Francis Herbert Bradley was born in Clapham, Surrey, England. He was a British idealist philosopher. His most important work was Appearance and Reality. He educated at Cheltenham College and Marlborough College. In 1865, he entered the University College, Oxford. He was the first British philosopher to be awarded the Order of Merit. He was famous for his non-pluralistic approach to philosophy. He wrote several books include: Ethical Studies, The Presuppositions of Critical History, The principles of logic, Appearance and Reality, Essays on Truth and Reality, and Collected Essays.
