Caskie Stinnett was born in Remington, Virginia. He was an American editor and writer. He graduated from William and Mary College in 1932 and began his career as a newspaper reporter in Staunton, Va., before joining the Curtis Publishing Co. in Philadelphia in 1946. He became travel editor and eventually editor in chief of Holiday magazine, a position he held from 1967 until 1971. He also wrote a column called "A Room with a View" for Downeast magazine for 20 years. He was author of Out of the Red.
