Jamin Ben "Jamie" Raskin was born in Washington, D.C., USA. He is an American politician and professor. He studied at Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He is the U.S. Representative for Maryland's 8th congressional district. A law professor, Raskin teaches constitutional law and legislation at American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington. He served as Member of the Maryland Senate from the 20th district from 2007-2016. He is married to Sarah Bloom Raskin, who served as the Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation from 2007-2010, and US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury from 2014-2017. He has written several books include: We the Students, Overruling Democracy, and The Wealth Primary(with John Bonifaz).
