John Quincy Adams was born in Braintree, Massachusetts, USA. He was an American politician, diplomat, lawyer and professor. He served as the 6th President of the United States from 1825-1829. He also served as the United States Secretary of State, ambassador to foreign nations, US Senator from Massachusetts, and US Congressman from Massachusetts. He was the son of second US President John Adams. He earned a BA degree from Harvard College in 1787. He studied law with Theophilus Parsons in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He earned an MA degree from Harvard University in 1790. He was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1791 and began practicing law in Boston. He served as Professor of Rhetoric and Oratory at Harvard University and as professor of logic at Brown University.
