Howard Brush Dean III was born in East Hampton, New York, USA. He is an American politician who served as the 79th Governor of Vermont from 1991 to 2003 and Chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2009. He was a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the United States presidential election, 2004. He was the Lieutenant Governor of Vermont from 1987 to 1991, and a member of the Vermont House of Representatives from 1983 to 1986. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Yale University in 1971. Before entering politics, he earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1978.
