He is hailed as the "Father of the Constitution" for his pivotal role in drafting and promoting the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. He studied at Princeton University. He served as a U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia(1789-1797), and a United States Secretary of State from 1801-1809.
