John Naisbitt was born in Utah, USA. He is an American author and public speaker in the area of futures studies. He studied at Harvard University and Cornell University. He earned a BA degree from the University of Utah in 1952. He gained business experience working for IBM and Eastman Kodak. In 1968 he founded his own company, the Urban Research Corporation. He founded the Naisbitt China Institute, a non-profit, independent research institution studying the social, cultural and economic transformation of China located at Tianjin University. He was a former visiting fellow at Harvard University, visiting professor at Moscow State University, and faculty member at Nanjing University in China. He has written several books include: Megatrends: Ten New Directions Transforming Our Lives, Megatrends 2000 (with Patricia Aburdene), Megatrends for Women (with Patricia Aburdene), Global paradox, Megatrends Asia, High Tech High Touch, Mind Set!: Reset Your Thinking and See the Future, and China's Megatrends (with Doris Naisbitt).
