Francine Pascal was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA. She is an American writer best known for creating the Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High was the backbone of the collection, and was made into a popular television series. She has written several novels include: Hangin' out with Cici, The Hand-me-down Kid, The Ruling Class, La Villa, My First Love and Other Disasters, and Save Johanna!. In 1958, she graduated from New York University.
