Gale Anne Hurd was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is an American film producer. She is currently the recording secretary for the Producers Guild of America. She graduated from Stanford University with a BA in economics and communications, and a minor in political science, in 1977. She formed her own production company, Pacific Western Productions, in 1982 and went on to produce a number of box-office hits including The Terminator, Aliens, and The Abyss. She produced other films include: Raising Cain, Virus, and Dick. She was awarded several awards include: Women in Film Crystal Award(1998), Telluride Tech Festival Award(2003), Hollywood Walk of Fame(2012), and Laura Ziskin Lifetime Achievement Award(2013).
