Martin Trevor Heinrich is the junior United States Senator for New Mexico, in office since 2013. From 2009 to 2013 Heinrich was the U.S. Representative for New Mexico's 1st congressional district. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Heinrich won the Senate seat vacated by retiring Senator Jeff Bingaman in 2012.
