Nationality: | American |
Profession: | Face Painter, Gift Wrapper, Saleswoman, Writer |
Anna Carey has been a gift wrapper, face painter, nanny, horrific cocktail waitress, sofa saleswoman and children’s book editor before she became a writer—which allows her to be all of the above. She grew up in Huntington, New York, where she first developed her love of reading, writing, and young adult books, with her Babysitter’s Club obsession. She attended Walt Whitman High School. There she played the flute, did gymnastics, and sung the fight song “Hail to thee Walt Whitman” on a regularly basis. After nearly ten years in New York, she moved to the west coast, which provided the setting for her first young adult series, The Eve Trilogy. She now lives in Los Angeles. She studied creative writing at NYU and has an MFA in fiction from Brooklyn College.
