František Palacký was born in Hodslavice, Czech Republic. He was a Czech historian and politician, the most influential person of the Czech National Revival, called "Father of the Nation". He is known for his monumental History of Bohemia and his federalistic concept of Austro-Slavism. He also defended the rights of the Czechs, the Slovaks, and many other Slavonic peoples.
