Gavin Buchanan Ewart was born in London, UK. He was a British poet who contributed to Geoffrey Grigson's New Verse at the age of seventeen. He received a B.A. in 1937 and an M.A. in 1942 from Christ’s College, Cambridge. From 1964 he produced many collections, which included The Gavin Ewart Show, No Fool like an Old Fool, All My Little Ones, The Ewart Quarto, and Penultimate Poems. In 1991 he received the Michael Braude Award for Light Verse.
