John Kilian Houston Brunner was born in Oxfordshire, England. He was a British author of science fiction novels and short stories. He studied at Cheltenham College. He wrote several novels include: Echo in the Skull, The World Swappers, Into the Slave Nebula, Secret Agent of Terra, The Super Barbarians, The Stardroppers, To Conquer Chaos, The Whole Man, The Martian Sphinx, The Long Result, The Squares of the City, The Productions of Time, Stand on Zanzibar (Won- Hugo Award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 1969, BSFA Award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 1969), Double, Double, The Jagged Orbit (Won- BSFA award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 1970, Nominated- Nebula Award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 1969), The Sheep Look Up, The Shockwave Rider, The Infinitive of Go, Players at the Game of People, The Crucible of Time, Children of the Thunder, A Maze of Stars, and Muddle Earth.
