Charles Lewis Haley was born in Gladys, Virginia. He is a retired American football linebacker. He was selected in the fourth round of the 1986 NFL Draft out of James Madison University. The only player in NFL history to have been on five Super Bowl-winning teams, Haley was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015. During his playing career, Haley became known for an abrasive demeanor. After retiring he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and began to undergo therapy and take medication.
