Janette Oke was born in Champion, Alberta, Canada. She is a Canadian author, novelist and screenwriter. She graduated from Mountain View Bible College in Didsbury, Alberta, where she met her future husband, Edward Oke, who later became the president of that college. She has written several books include: Beyond the gathering storm, Spring's gentle promise, Julia's last hope, Return to Harmony, Another homecoming, The Father of Love, and A Prairie Legacy. She has written several novels include: When comes the spring, A searching heart, A quiet strength, Once upon a summer, The Measure of a Heart, Seasons of the Heart, The winds of autumn, Winter is not forever, Like gold refined, A Woman Named Damaris, Drums of change, The Beloved Land, Heart of the wilderness, Roses for Mama, and The birthright.
