Sir James Matthew Barrie was born in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland. He was a Scottish novelist and playwright, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan. He studied at Glasgow Academy, Dumfries Academy, and Edinburgh University. He wrote several novels include: The Little White Bird, Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, Auld Licht Idyls, When a man's single, The inconsiderate waiter, Two of Them, and Peter and Wendy. He wrote several plays include: Quality Street, The Admirable Crichton, Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, What Every Woman Knows, Dear Brutus, Mary Rose, and The Boy David.
