Edna Hong was born in Clark County, Wisconsin. She was an American writer. She was a prolific author who was highly regarded for her poetic and insightful novels, religious writings, historical fiction, and children’s books. She received the Wittenberg Award in 1993 from the Luther Institute in Washington, D.C. for her outstanding service to church and society. She also wrote a humor column for the student newspaper, the Manitou Messenger; served as the editor of the St. Olaf Quarterly, a literary journal; and wrote an honors thesis titled “The Nature Tradition in American Literature.”
