In 1999, he was awarded the "National Leadership Award" for philanthropic and educational efforts to battle AIDS. In 2007, he received the FIRST Responsible Capitalism Award. He has written several books include: Pour Your Heart into It, Onward(with Stephen Bowlby), and For Love of Country(with Rajiv Chandrasekaran).
