Jennifer Haigh was born in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania, USA. She is an American novelist and short story writer. She earned a BA degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, the University of Iowa in 2002. Her fiction has been published in Granta, Ploughshares, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Good Housekeeping, and many other publications. She has written several novels include: Mrs. Kimble (Won- PEN/Hemingway Award for outstanding debut fiction), Baker Towers (Won- L.L. Winship/PEN New England Award for Fiction), The Condition, Faith, and Heat and Light. She is the author of a short story collection, News From Heaven.
