Paul Vere Johnson has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 2005, and the church's sixteenth Commissioner of Church Education since August 2008. Johnson became a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 2, 2005 after serving as an area seventy in the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy since June 2003. On June 8, 2008, the church's First Presidency announced his appointment as commissioner, effective August 1, 2008.
