Jessie Douglas Kerruish was born in Seaton Carrew, near Hartlepool, County Durham, England. She was an English writer. She is best known for her splendid occult detective and werewolf yarn The Undying Monster (novel). She had earlier won a prize leading to publication of her first major book, Miss Haroun-Al-Raschid (novel). She wrote other books include: The Girl from Kurdistan (novel), and Babylonian Nights' Entertainments (collection of Arabian Fantasies).
