Elizabeth Ann Warren was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. She is an American politician, law professor, author, and lawyer. She is the senior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts. She won the general election on November 6, 2012, becoming the first female Senator from Massachusetts. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and was previously a Harvard Law School professor specializing in bankruptcy law. A prominent legal scholar, Warren is among the most cited in the field of commercial law. She served as Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under President Barack Obama. She graduating in 1970 with a bachelor of science degree in speech pathology and audiology from University of Houston. She earning her law degree from Rutgers University. Warren and her daughter Amelia Tyagi wrote The Two-Income Trap: Why Middle-Class Mothers and Fathers Are Going Broke. Warren's book A Fighting Chance was published by Metropolitan Books in April 2014.
