John Lyly was an English playwright, writer and politician. He earned a BA degree in 1573 and an MA degree in 1575 both from Magdalen College, Oxford University. He wrote several plays include: Woman in the Moone, Campaspe, Sapho and Phao, Endymion, Gallathea, Midas, Mother Bombie, and Love's Metamorphosis. He wrote several novels, including Euphues: The Anatomy of Wit, and Euphues and His England. At the end of his life, he became a Member of Parliament for Queen Elizabeth’s court, serving on a committee 1554about the wine abuse reformation in 1598.
