Ho Chi Minh was born in Kim Liên, Nghệ An Province, Vietnam. He was a Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader. He was the first president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from 1945–1969. He was a key figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, as well as the People's Army of Vietnam and the Việt Cộng during the Vietnam War. He wrote several books include: Down with colonialism!, Ho Chi Minh: selected articles and speeches, 1920-1967, and On revolution; selected writings, 1920-66.
