John Randolph, known as John Randolph of Roanoke was born in Cawsons, Virginia, USA. He was an American politician. He was a Congressman from Virginia, serving in the U.S. House of Representatives at various times between 1799 and 1833. He served as the United States Senator from Virginia (1825-1827). He also served as the United States Minister to Russia from May 26, 1830 - September 19, 1830. He studied at Princeton University and Columbia University.
