John M. Slattery Jr. was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is an American actor and film director. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Catholic University of America in 1984. He is best known for his role as Roger Sterling in the AMC drama series Mad Men. He has received four Primetime Emmy Awards nominations and two Critics' Choice Television Awards for Mad Men. He was also part of the Mad Men ensemble cast that won two Screen Actors Guild Awards. His role in several films include: City Hall, Eraser, Sleepers, Traffic, Sam the Man, Bad Company, Mona Lisa Smile, The Situation, Charlie Wilson's War, The Adjustment Bureau, Return, In Our Nature, Bluebird , Ted 2, Spotlight, Captain America: Civil War, and Churchill. His role in television include: Homefront (TV series), Maggie (TV series), Ed (TV series), K Street (TV series), Jack & Bobby (drama series), and Veep (comedy TV series). He directed only one film, entitled God's Pocket.
