Joe Abercrombie was born in Lancaster, England. He is a British novelist. He is the author of a trilogy called The First Law and other fantasy books in the same setting. He studied at Lancaster Royal Grammar School and Manchester University. He has written several fantasy novels include: The Blade Itself (Nominations: Locus Award for Best First Novel), Before They Are Hanged, Last Argument of Kings (Nominations: David Gemmell Legend Award for Best Fantasy Novel), Best Served Cold (Won- Ravenheart Award for Best Fantasy Cover Art), The Heroes (Nominations: Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Fantasy), Red Country (Nominations: Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Fantasy), Half a King (Won- Locus Award for best Young Adult Novel 2015), Half the World, and Half a War.
