Aarón Sánchez is an American chef, the executive chef and part-owner of the restaurant Centrico and owner of the Mexican restaurant Mestizo in Kansas City. He was co-host on the show Heat Seekers with Roger Mooking, and is a recurring guest judge on the show Chopped on Food Network. He began cooking at an early age, helping his mother prepare traditional Mexican foods for her catering business. In 1984, the family moved to New York, and his mother launched the acclaimed Café Marimba, and Sánchez began to cook in a professional kitchen. At age 16, Sánchez was cooking at a level that earned him a place in a Masterclass with chef Paul Prudhomme. In 1994, Sánchez graduated from The Dwight School, and began to work full-time for Prudhomme in New Orleans. Aarón has a son named Yuma.
