Christopher Eric Hitchens was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. He was a british- American author, essayist, literary critic, screenwriter and journalist. He contributed to New Statesman, The Nation, The Atlantic, London Review of Books, The Times Literary Supplement, Slate and Vanity Fair.
