A member of the Republican Party, Brewer is the fourth woman, and third consecutive woman, to serve as Governor of Arizona. She served as Secretary of State of Arizona from 2003 to 2009. She served as a State House of Representative from Arizona(1983-1987) and State Senator from Arizona(1987- 1997). She received a radiological technologist certificate from Glendale Community College.
