John Nichols Boozman was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. He is an American Republican politician. He is the senior United States Senator from Arkansas since 2011. He was the United States House of Representative from Arkansas's 3rd congressional district, serving from 2001 to 2011. He graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 1977. He established the low vision program at the Arkansas School for the Blind in Little Rock and worked as a volunteer optometrist at an area clinic that provides medical services to low-income families. He married Cathy Marley in 1972. They have three daughters, Kristen, Lauren, and Shannon.
