Jennifer Mulhern Granholm was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is an American Democratic politician and lawyer who served as the Attorney General of Michigan from 1999 to 2003 and as the Governor of Michigan from 2003 to 2011. She earned a BA degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984. She earned a JD degree from Harvard Law School in 1987, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. She is the author of book (memoir), entitled A Governor's Story: The Fight for Jobs and America's Economic Future (with Dan Mulhern).
