Jerry Lewis was born in Newark, New Jersey, USA. He was an American actor, comedian, film director, producer and screenwriter. He was known for his slapstick humor in film, television, stage and radio. He and Dean Martin were partners as the hit popular comedy duo of Martin and Lewis. He served as national chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and hosted the live Labor Day Weekend broadcast of the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for 44 years. His role in several films (with Dean Martin) include: My Friend Irma, At War with the Army, Sailor Beware, Money from Home, Living It Up, Artists and Models, and Pardners.
