Hugh Michael Jackman was born in Sydney, Australia. He is an Australian actor and producer. He is known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series. He earned a BA degree in Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1991. His role in several films include: Erskineville Kings, X-Men, Kate & Leopold, The Prestige, The Fountain, Australia, Les Misérables(nomination-Academy Award for Best Actor and won-Golden Globe Award for Best Actor- Motion Picture Musical or Comedy), and Prisoners. His role in television include: Correlli, The Man from Snowy River, and Viva Laughlin(executive producer). He produced several films include: Deception and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In Broadway theatre, he won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy from Oz. He won an Emmy Award for one of these appearances. He also hosted the 81st Academy Awards on 22 February 2009.
