Jonathan Christopher "Jon" Porter was born in Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa, USA. He is an American Republican politician. He was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Nevada's 3rd congressional district from 2003-2009. He served as Mayor of Boulder City from 1987-1991. He served in the Nevada State Senate from 1994 until 2002. He studied at Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, Iowa.
