David Eagleman was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is an American neuroscientist and writer at Baylor College of Medicine, where he directs the Laboratory for Perception and Action and the Initiative on Neuroscience and Law. He is best known for his work on brain plasticity, time perception, synesthesia, and neurolaw. He earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine in 1998. Eagleman's work of literary fiction, Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives, is an international bestseller published in 28 languages. Eagleman's science book Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain is a New York Times bestseller.
