Jeffrey Martin "Jeff" Landry was born in St. Martinville, Louisiana, USA. He is an American lawyer, politician, soldier and small businessman. He is the Attorney General of Louisiana. He served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Louisiana's 3rd district from 2011-2013. His father is an architect and businessman and his mother is a religion school teacher. He earned a BS degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1999. He earned a JD degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2004. He served at Fort Hood near Killeen, Texas, during Operation Desert Storm. After eleven years of service in the Louisiana National Guard, he was discharged at the rank of sergeant.
