John Elmer Linder was born in Deer River, Minnesota, USA. He is an American Republican politician and dentist. He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Georgia (1993-2011). His district was numbered the 4th from 1993 to 1997, the 11th from 1997 to 2003, and the 7th from 2003 until 2011. He was a member of the Georgia State House of Representatives. He earned a BS degree in 1964, and his DDS degree in 1967 both from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
