Joseph Robinette "Joe" Biden Jr. was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. He is an American Democratic politician and lawyer. He was the 47th Vice President of the United States from 2009 to 2017. He represented Delaware as a United States Senator from 1973 until becoming Vice President in 2009. He was a long-time member and former chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. He has also served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. After leaving office, he was named the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a BA degree with a double major in history and political science from the University of Delaware in 1965. He earned a JD degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1968.
