Clifford Longley is a british author, broadcaster and journalist who has specialized since 1972 in the coverage and analysis of British and international religious affairs. For 20 years he wrote a weekly column in The Times. He now contributes to Thought for the Day and appears regularly on The Moral Maze. In 1986 Longley was named "Specialist Writer of the Year" in the British Press Awards. October 2012 he was awarded an honorary Lambeth degree of Master of Letters by the then Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams. Publications include The Times Book of Clifford Longley; The Worlock Archive; Chosen People and his first novel, the Babylon Contingency. He is a JP and an Honorary Fellow of St Mary's College, Strawberry Hill.
