Henry Cabot Lodge was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He was an American Republican politician and historian. In 1872, he graduated from Harvard College. In 1874, he graduated from Harvard Law School. He received his PhD in history from Harvard. He served as Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1880–1882. He served as U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts's 6th district from 1887-1893. He had the role of the first Senate Majority Leader. He is best known for his positions on foreign policy, especially his battle with President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 over the Treaty of Versailles. He served as United States Senator from Massachusetts from 1893-1924.
