Henri de Lubac was born in Cambrai, France. He was a French Jesuit priest who became a cardinal of the Catholic Church and is considered one of the most influential theologians of the 20th century. In 1929, he was appointed professor of fundamental theology at the Catholic University of Lyon. He wrote several books include: Corpus Mysticum, Surnaturel, and Medieval Exegesis.
