Jan Hus was born in Husinec, Czech Republic. He was a Czech priest, philosopher, dean and rector at Charles University in Prague, church reformer, and a key predecessor to Protestantism. He studied philosophy and theology. He earned a BA degree in 1393 and an MA degree in 1396 from the University of Prague. He was appointed a preacher at the newly built Bethlehem Chapel around the same time. He wrote several books include: Dcerka, The Church, Orthographia bohemica, and Opera omnia.
