John E. Sweeney was born in Troy, New York, USA. He is an American Republican politician and lawyer. He was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York's 20th & 22nd congressional district from 1999-2007. He received an associate degree from Hudson Valley Community College in 1978. He earned a BA degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Sage College of Albany in 1981. He received a JD degree from Western New England University School of Law in 1991.
