He spent many years in the comedy team Stiller and Meara with his wife, Anne Meara. He earned a bachelor's degree in Speech and Drama from Syracuse University in 1950. His role in several films include: Airport 1975, Seize the Day, Hot Pursuit, Highway to Hell, The Pickle, Heavyweights, Stag, A Fish in the Bathtub, The Independent, My 5 Wives, Zoolander, and The Heartbreak Kid. His role in television include: Joe and Sons (TV series), Madame X (TV film), The Other Woman (TV film), Tattingers (TV series), Sweet 15 (TV film), and The King of Queens (TV series). He is the author of book (memoir), entitled Married to Laughter: A Love Story Featuring Anne Meara.
