Francisco De Quevedo was born in Madrid, Spain. He was a Spanish writer. Along with his lifelong rival, Luis de Góngora, Quevedo was one of the most prominent Spanish poets of the age. His style is characterized by what was called conceptismo. This style existed in stark contrast to Góngora's culteranismo. He wrote several books include: El Buscón(novel), Los suenos, Gracias y desgracias del ojo del culo, Selected poetry of Francisco de Quevedo, Dreams and discourses, and Two Spanish Picaresque Novels(novel).
