George Barr McCutcheon was born in Lafayette, Indiana, USA. He was an American novelist. His best known works include the series of novels set in Graustark, a fictional East European country, and the novel Brewster's Millions, which was adapted into a play and several films. He studied at Purdue University. He wrote several novels Include: Graustark: The Story of a Love Behind a Throne, Castle Craneycrow, The Day of the Dog, Jane Cable, Nedra, The Husbands of Edith, Mary Midthorne, The Prince of Graustark, Viola Gwyn, Kindling and Ashes, and East of the Setting Sun.
