George Montgomery was born in Brady, Pondera County, Montana, USA. He was an American painter, sculptor, furniture craftsman, and stuntman who is best known as an actor in western style film and television. His role in several films include: The Singing Vagabond(stunt work), The Cisco Kid and the Lady, Young People, Jennie, Accent on Love, Orchestra Wives, China Girl, Bomber's Moon, Three Little Girls in Blue, The Texas Rangers, Cripple Creek, The Battle of Rogue River, Canyon River, Black Patch, The Steel Claw, Battle of the Bulge, Warkill, and Satan's Harvest. He oversaw the furniture business for more than forty years and expanded his interest to house design. His artistic instincts included learning how to sculpt in bronze. Self-taught, he sculpted upwards of fifty bronze sculptures including ones of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Gene Autry, Randolph Scott, and future President Ronald W. Reagan.
