James Phillip Hoffa was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He is an American attorney, labor leader and the General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He earned a BA degree in Economics from Michigan State University in 1963. He earned a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1966. He was an attorney for the Teamsters from 1968 to 1993.
